Tombé pour la France
Etienne Daho Tombé pour la France (1985)
Directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet, France
In this absolutely classic mid-'80s video, Etienne Daho sings his hit song over a host of fascinating visuals, including three men in white suits in front of an expressionistic cardboard background, and an animated set of photobooth photos. The director? None other than a young Jean-Pierre Jeunet, 16 years before Amélie would bring photobooths on film into the mainstream. Photobooths feature not only in the video, but in the lyrics as well.
