High Fidelity
Stephen Frears (USA, 2000, 104 min.)
John Cusack plays Rob, a neurotic record-store owner who revisits his past relationships to figure out why they failed. The movie is shot in Chicago and features many iconic Chicago locations. Near the end of the film (1:39:58 mark), Rob meets ex-girlfriend Laura (Iben Hjejle) at Rainbo Club to propose to her. While you don't see the photobooth that is housed there, you do catch a quick glimpse of the annual poster the venue creates from photos taken in their booth. It's hard to tell whether the poster shown is from 1989 or 1999.
Fun side note: this is a unique movie entry in that site curators Tim & Brian spotted this Photobooth in Film at the same time. Brian scored tickets to a late-night 35mm screening of the movie at Metrograph while they were in NYC for the 2025 Photobooth Convention. Although both had seen the film before, this was the first time they noticed the photobooth photos.
