Cameron Crowe's first screenplay based on his covert research done pretending to be a high school student. The result is a funny and realistic (if not at times unsettling) look at early '80s high school culture, with a great soundtrack and the unforgettable Jeff Spicoli (Sean Penn). The film helped launch the careers of Penn, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Phoebe Cates, Eric Stoltz, Forest Whitaker, and Judge Reinhold.

Stacy tries (unsuccessfully) to seduce Rat, using the old "wanna see some pictures in my photo album?" line. We are treated to a quick glimpse of a photostrip in the album, which looks like a facsimile of an original strip with Jennifer Jason Leigh on the left.
